Evaluations and medication management for adults, in English or in Spanish.

Psychiatry for adults · Henderson, Nevada
Dr. Mariano Aranda and Leila Fawzy, PMHNP, see adults for anxiety and sleep concerns and prescribe when it makes sense. The first visit is about an hour, and this site says what it covers before you book.
How we work
Soothe Psychiatry is a two-prescriber office on Paseo Verde Parkway. Visits are in person or, if you are in Nevada, by video. The hallway is plain on purpose: a bench, a plant and tall windows.
We start with a conversation about your sleep, your worry, what you already take and what you would like to be different. Medicine is one option among several, and we say so when it is not the right first step.
One prescriber for the whole visit, not a rotating cast
Any medicine explained in plain words, risks included
We prescribe and do not provide therapy; we can suggest therapists

Who it is for
You want an evaluation of what is going on and a clear talk about your options, including whether medicine belongs among them.
Trouble falling asleep, waking in the small hours, or never feeling rested. We look at what you take and your habits before we change anything.
You want a prescriber in Nevada, or a second look at what you take. Bring the bottles or a list to the first visit.
We see adults 18 and over. We do not provide therapy, court-ordered evaluations or emergency care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988; in an emergency, call 911.
Care

A full conversation about your symptoms, your sleep, your history and what you take now, ending with a written plan.
About the evaluation
To see how a medicine is working, adjust it and renew it under the written policy. In person, or by video in Nevada.
About follow-up visits
For sleep that has gone wrong: a closer look at the hours, the habits and the medicines involved, with a plan for the weeks ahead.
About the sleep visitYour first visit
Plan on about an hour with one prescriber. You go through four things, in this order, and you leave with a plan on paper.
Why you are here, in your own words
Your sleep, your days and anything that has changed
Everything you take, from the list or bottles you bring
Options with their risks, and the plan, written before you leave

Who you will see
You see the same person each time you come back. Both see adults; Dr. Aranda sees people in Spanish or in English.

What sets the fee, and what you hear before you start.
We bill most PPO plans directly and are out of network with other plans. We do not bill Medicare or Medicaid from this office, and we say so before the visit if you have one.
Most PPO plans: billed to your plan
Other plans: out of network
Medicare and Medicaid: not billed here
Your fee depends on the kind of visit and how long it lasts. Each fee is given to you in writing before you start, and you pay at the end of the visit. HSA and FSA cards work.
Set by the kind of visit and its length
Given in writing before you start
Paid at the end of the visit
After a visit you can ask for an itemized receipt (a superbill) with the date, the kind of visit and a diagnosis code, to send to your plan. The code is one your insurer will see. Your plan decides whether it reimburses anything and how much, so ask it before you start.
If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost before it starts. We send one in writing before your first visit. If a final bill is $400 or more above the estimate, you can dispute it. The estimate is not a contract.
Your rights, at cms.gov/nosurprisesBefore your first visit our front desk checks your plan's mental health benefits and tells you what it finds: whether the visit is covered and whether a copay or deductible applies. You can also call the number on your card first.
The first visit is a 60-minute evaluation with one prescriber: a conversation, a review of what you take and a written plan. Follow-up visits are shorter. Either can be in person in Henderson or by video if you are in Nevada.
What a first visit coversWhere we practice
We are licensed in Nevada, so a video visit is for someone who is in Nevada at the time of the visit.
Friday visits are by video.
Second floor, with parking in the lot behind the building.
Get directions to Henderson officeLabs and pharmacy
Bring recent lab results from your primary care clinician if you have them. A test done recently does not need to be repeated.
Some medicines call for a blood test first or from time to time. If yours does, the prescriber explains why and writes the order, and you go to a lab near you.
We send them electronically to your pharmacy, in Henderson or anywhere else you pick. You can change pharmacies at any time.
Refills and renewals happen at follow-up visits or by a request through the office, as the written policy sets out.

Your prescriber sets the pace with you. After the evaluation, follow-up visits are about 25 minutes, and how far apart they are depends on what you take and how you are doing.
